Last weekend we went to cut down our Christmas tree again. It has now been an 8 year tradition for Nathan and I... We loved having little helpers this year...
I don't know why I keep envisioning our family outings to be so perfect.. I figured we would all get up, get dressed very "Christmas" drive over the river and threw the woods, singing Christmas carols... Once we got to the tree farm, Waylon would walk right up to the "perfect" tree, a light would shine down from the heavens and we would have the best tree in the lot... I would get a million great "perfect" shots of the kids behaving so well and it would all be so wonderful!!!
WHY do I do this to myself...
I found out that morning that Prairie has NOTHING red in her closet (how did that happen), Both kids screamed most of the way there,, all the Christmas songs on the radio were horrible, once we got to the lot Waylon through a ton of fits because all he wanted was the saw that is used to cut the tree down (guess he did not read the sign on the way in that said no kids handle the saw), Prairie wined most of the entire time we were there, and I really did not get the "perfect shot"...
All, in all, we had and amazing time,, Ha!
Honestly, it was a lot of fun, we have a wonderful tree (even if it was a quick pick), we kept the tradition alive, and we made memories...
I love this time of year, I love Santa, and I love sharing traditions and memories with the kids...
We got all decorations up and so far nothing has broken...
Enjoy the pictures
