Thanksgiving Update and 6th Annual Tree Cutting!

I love this time of year!!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We made the 71/2 hour trip to Oklahoma and got to see almost all of my family. It was a very long trip but I knew I would not be able to go for Christmas so I had to get my fill of family in. We first picked up my baby brother Matthew in Dallas then drove to my oldest brothers in Oklahoma City. We had so much fun playing with my nephew Hamilton and niece GG. My sister in law Keri and I got to do some shopping and picked up Waylon's bedding. Keri is a dietatrician and has been such a help to me through my pregnancy. She was able to get me the breast pump I needed and a huge case of diapers for very cheap. I am so thankful to have her and Andy as such good role models for Nathan and I. Hamilton and GG are the most beautiful and fun kids in the world and I am so thankful Waylon is going to have such great cousins to play with. On Thanksgiving Eve we drove to Tulsa to spend the night with my Grandpa and Uncle Mike. We had a great time visiting with them and miss them so much. On Thanksgiving day we do a huge lunch with my Dad's side of the family the "Hale side" there were about 40 family members there and enough food to feed an army... I love getting to see and spend time catching up with all of them and sadly it only happens once or twice a year. The only person I missed was my cousin Kimmie, we always have each other to share these holidays with and she was at home with new baby James, understandably......

After lunch we drove 3 hours to Idabel Ok, to spend the rest of our trip with my Mom's side of the family the "Mashburns". There were about 30 people there and it was wonderful to finally sleep in the same bed for more than one night. It was so great to see my other BFF and cousin Laci and her kids who came in from Detroit. I was planning on going to Hot Springs to see Kimmie and family but got a little sick and very tired, I spent most of the rest of the time on the couch or in bed. I missed getting to see them so much but did not want to give what I had to the babies.... It was a very fast and furious trip but I loved every min of it... even though I did not get one picture.....

Okay so that is it for the Thanksgiving update now to Christmas....

For the past several years Nathan and I have gone to cut down our own Christmas tree at a tree farm it is so much fun and will be a great tradition to carry on forever. I always look for the biggest and most perfect tree. This year I found it! I love that I have a husband who gets just as excited about Christmas as I do. Nathan loves to put lights up outside and is turning into a Griswald... He has been great this year with helping me decorate our house, there is a lot of places I can not reach this year..... I said I was not going to put up as much this year but I think I have more out this year than last. I just can not help it... We are enjoying our decorated home and just keep thinking how different it is going to be this time next year...
