Easter 2009

We had a Wonderful Easter! It was so much fun getting to plan this special occasion for our little boy. We headed to Oklahoma with my Mom where we stayed at my grandparents and met up with brother #3Matthew and his girlfriend Lacey, brother #1Andy, his wife Keri and kids Hamilton and GG. We also met up at the farm with 35 of our aunts, uncles and cousins. It was esp great to see my cousin and BFF Laci and her whole fam. On Friday we just played with everyone, road horses, and enjoyed the farm. On Sat we had a huge Easter hunt and party on the farm. We brought cascroines and a pinita from South Texas and the real Easter Bunny came to visit. We had to teach all the north folks how to properly break the confetti eggs over others heads and it was a huge hit, should have brought about 10dz more. Matthew and Lacey went to buy kites and everyone Loved that. All the kids had a wonderful time hunting eggs and the adults had a great time watching them. It was one of the best Easters I have ever had. I love Easter almost as much as I do Christmas so I enjoy making a big deal out of it. I wanted to get Waylon's picture made with the Easter Bunny but I knew I would probably offend the bunny at the mall if I came spraying him down with a can of Lysol, so I jumped on ebay to see what I could get for a real bunny costume. After all my bidding wars I finally got a great costume. Nathan did an amazing job as the Bunny he did not put up a fight at all and it was so amazing to see how he would do something so silly just to make Easter fun for his son. On the way home we were talking about how much fun Easter was and how much my Dad would have loved it and Nathan said that was one of the reasons he was okay with getting into a bunny costume because he knew my Dad, Waylon's Big Guy, would have done the same thing. Nathan will never know how much that meant to me.
So, of course with all of the adults there we did have to have some kind of competition for us so we had a good ole' fashion kick ball game. We even picked teams, pretty sure I was picked last but it was so much fun. It was the most beautiful day and a great day to be outside playing.
On Sunday we got up and got Waylon's Easter basket ready he got his first real soccer ball from his Dad and cute little monkey, because we call him our monkey all the time, several books, a mirror, he loves to look at himself, a farm with animals and and lots of candy. My Mom also got him and us an Easter basket with very cute spring clothes, some books and a cute monkey with rabbit ears on it. After we opened up our baskets we got all dressed up for church, yes, I had to get matching ties for Nathan and Waylon, they look SO handsome. Waylon even got a shout out from the pulpit at church saying how nice he looked, that made me feel great! We went to eat Mexican food, yea I know not real easterly but that is what Granny wanted, went back to pack and then went out to the Farm again to celebrate a early 1st birthday party for GG. We had a blast, I fall more in love with my nieces, nephews, and cousin every time I am around them. I can only imagine how fun and crazy it is going to be in the many more years to come. I am so thankful to my Aunt and Uncle David and Sandra for hosting this years Easter Party, and everyone that made it so much fun. We love and miss you all!

I love that Nathan is just as much fun as your Dad! I guess they are right about daughters marrying guys like their daddys!
I love Waylon in his Easter best and jealous of his own personal Easter bunny! Props to Nathan for being sooo cool! Hope you are already thinking of a character for him to dress as for his 1st bday!!
