Waylon's 1st Birthday party was a Monkey theme... We have called him our little monkey forever and just found it fitting to have a monkey party. Nathan, my brother and I all stayed up late the night before painting signs and decorating the house. We asked ourselves if Waylon would appreciate all the time we had spent doing this for him when he was 17 years old....
It was such a fun party! We had both sets of grandparents there, aunts, unlces, cousins and some of our best friends...
We did not do much but ate some of Waylon's favorite finger foods, opened very sweet gifts from everyone and the best part,,, ate cake...
All day long Waylon was so good and acted like he knew it was his day... He did not have much of a nap all day but was great all evening. He loved having everyone there to play with him.
Nathan and I were both so honored to be his parents today, as every day, but today was even more special. We talked about how much our lives have changed for the better in the past year and how we never imaged Waylon would be as sweet, wonderful and beautiful as he is now. We thanked each other for making the past year possible we know we could not have done this parenting thing with out the support and love of each other. I want Waylon to always remember that....
I took Waylon to the doc the next day he is doing very well. Weighs 19.11 10th%, despite loosing over a pound with the stomach virus last week, Height is 30 inches 75%...
He is walking and talking more and more. He is staring to really figure out his toys and know how to play with them. He still is a very friendly child and loves giving kisses. One problem we are having is hair pulling can not seem to keep him from doing this to all the kids he is around. Other than that, of course, he is the most wonderful, beautiful and sweet baby in the entire world. We love him more than anything and are so very Grateful to God for giving us the gift of Waylon....
