Playing in the Rain and Doc Apt

A few weeks ago we had a full week of rain... We were all getting a little cabin fever so we decided to see what Waylon would do if we let him play in the rain... We put on his rain boots that he got from his cousin Beau and let him go... He was very excited and laughed and screamed... He would get real close to the edge of the porch and then would turn around. Dad finally put him out in the rain and he played for a bit but liked it better from the porch... He is such a boy! We love watching Waylon grow and discover different things... We had his doc apt a few weeks ago and he is doing great. She did give us several things that needed to change around the Payne house... We need to get rid of the bottle, yes he was 15 months and still took a bottle, he is now off of it and drinking great out of the sippy cup... We really could not believe how quick he adjusted but he is doing great. Nathan and I just loved having the time with him where we rocked him and gave him his bottle,, one of the only times he still feels like our little baby but we now rock him with his sippy cup and all is good. He was drinking 24 oz of milk a day and the doc said that was to much so now he is just getting 12-16oz a day.. She said he needed to not take his pabby anymore... I posted the story of when Waylon was born and I told the nurses no pabby in the hospital and when he would not stop crying all night one nurse suggested us giving it to him and reluctantly we did.. He kept it in his mouth 24/7 for a long time after that... We started winging him off of it several months ago and now he only takes it at bed time... I have mixed feelings about pabby's but as long as he is only taking it at night I am good for now...
The doctor said he needed more veggies, whatever we put on his plate he had to eat, not to give him anything different just because he did not like what was on his plate... we are trying the veggies every night but he still really loves to eat chicken fingers, corn dogs, apples, and bananas... We will keep working on more veggies... The doc said we needed to be brushing his teeth twice a day to which Nathan responded that "His mom don't even brush her teeth twice a day", I really wanted our pediatrician to know that but whatever.... So we bought a tooth brush and some kids tooth paste and just started brushing.. He did not get teeth till he was 14 months old so we are not that far behind with rotting his teeth out... She suggested we get him on a vitamin D supplement and that we check our fluoride in our water he may need to be on a fluoride supplement...
So needless to say we went home feeling like horrible parents and as if we were doing nothing right...
She is a new pediatrician to us and we did REALLY like her and were very glad she voiced her option...
Waylon weighed 23.5 lbs and was 31 inches long, he is in the 50% for everything and that is the first time he has been in that position, so I guess we are doing some things right...
With some advice from Kimmie we postponed his 1 year shots till he was 15 months old and are moving the 15 month shots to his 18th month apt... Due to his size we just thought this would be the best idea... So we did get his 1 year shots at the apt. He had to get one in each limb and cried a little but Dad was there to hold him still. After it was done he went on like nothing every happened.. He is so tough....
Waylon is an amazing boy, he is starting to voice his opinion and test the waters more and more but we are trying to stand firm... We love watching him grow and develop his personality more. We love him so very much and are so blessed to have him as ours...
